Shelf Styling Tips
Ever been stuck in decorating a shelf? Here are some tips to get you started in styling your shelf.
Contrast Colors and Patterns
Identify three colors for the look you want that ties into your homes color palette. Pick items that vary the material type (i.e., glass, texture type such as rope, wood, books, mirror, plant, concrete, etc.).
Group Items in Three
Place various groupings items diagonally apart in clusters of three. Odd numbers tend to look more appealing to the eye.
Height Variation
Add pieces with height variation such as, stacks of books, large vases, plants, etc.
Laying Items
Set items against the back of the shelf and place smaller items in front to create a layered look. Picture frames with thicker frames will set at the back the shelf nicely.
